Horsetail

Overview

Horsetail (Equisetum hyemale), also known as Scouring Rush, is a perennial fern ally characterized by its striking, cylindrical, jointed stems. It stands about 2 to 4 feet tall (24-48 inches) with a 1/2 inch diameter. Noted for its verticality, this reed-like plant boasts dark green, bamboo-like segments and rough texture. The plant thrives in moist, shady areas, and is a robust, low-maintenance option for adding structure to water garden designs.
