Overview
English Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata), a deciduous shrub with a broad, rounded crown, reaches up to 15-25 feet high with a similar spread. Noted for its glossy, lobed leaves, clusters of fragrant pink or white flowers bloom in late spring, followed by small crimson berries. Its dense, thorny branches provide excellent privacy and support local wildlife. Prefers full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. Hardy in zones 4-8.
