Cornelian Dogwood

Overview

Cornelian Dogwood (Cornus mas) is a versatile deciduous shrub or small tree, reaching up to 15-25 feet with an equal spread. Thriving in zones 4-8, it bursts with small yellow flowers in early spring, followed by edible red fruit. The ovate leaves turn purple in fall, and its exfoliating bark adds winter interest. Prefers full sun to partial shade and adapts to various soils, with moderate drought tolerance once established.
