Cornus kousa, also known as Kousa Dogwood, is a small deciduous tree that typically grows 15-30 feet tall. It boasts a vase shape with horizontal branching, creating a distinctive silhouette. In late spring, it produces star-shaped white to pink flowers, followed by berry-like fruits relished by birds. The foliage turns vibrant red-purple in fall, adding seasonal interest. Prefers acidic, well-drained soil and part-to-full sun exposure. Hardy in zones 5-8.
