Overview
The Leatherflower, Clematis viorna, is a climbing vine with urn-shaped, leather-textured blossoms in colors ranging from pink to deep purple. Flowers bloom from late spring to early fall, reaching a length of 3-6 inches, with an equally appealing silvery seed heads post-bloom. This North American native prefers well-drained soil, partial shade, and a structure to support its 6-10 feet climb. Hardy, it's a stunning addition for garden trellises or fences.
