Spring Beauty

Overview

Spring Beauty (Claytonia virginica) is a charming, native woodland perennial. Blossoming in early spring, it showcases delicate pink-veined, white flowers atop slender 6-12 inch stems. Thriving in partial shade, this ephemeral graces moist, well-drained soils with a carpet of lance-shaped, dark green leaves 2-6 inches long. Ideal for naturalistic settings, it offers early-season nectar for pollinators before retreating underground by late spring as temperatures rise.
