Slough Sedge

Overview

Carex obnupta, commonly referred to as Slough Sedge, is a robust perennial grass-like plant native to wetlands. Thriving in full sun to partial shade, it has dark green, narrow leaves reaching up to 3 feet in height, with dense, rounded clumps spreading up to 2 feet wide. Its ability to tolerate saturated soils makes it ideal for rain gardens and streambanks, offering excellent erosion control and habitat value.
