Overview
Bouteloua gracilis, commonly known as Mosquito Grass, thrives in USDA Zones 4-9. This perennial grass boasts fine-textured, blue-green foliage reaching a height of 18-24 inches and a spread of 12-15 inches. In summer, unique, eye-catching seed heads resembling mosquito larvae appear. Drought-tolerant once established, it prefers full sun and well-drained soils. Ideal for xeriscaping, accent planting, or as a low border, it adds movement and texture to the landscape.
