Overview
Side Oats Grama (Bouteloua curtipendula), a perennial North American native grass, stands 2-3 feet tall with a spread of 1-2 feet. Recognized by distinctive, oat-like seed spikes dangling along one side of its stems, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. Drought tolerant and adaptable, this ornamental grass adds a fine-textured, reddish-purple hue in summer turning tan in fall, ideal for naturalistic and water-wise landscapes.
