Silver Beardgrass
Bothriochloa Barbinodis
Overview
Silver Beardgrass, or Bothriochloa barbinodis, is a warm-season perennial grass with a height of 2 to 3 feet at maturity. Its striking feature is the silver-hued, feathery seed heads that bloom in late summer to fall, adding a shimmering texture to the landscape. Adapted to USDA Zones 6-9, this drought-tolerant species thrives in full sun and requires minimal maintenance, making it ideal for xeriscaping and native plant gardens.
