Overview

Asarum splendens, or Chinese Wild Ginger, is an eye-catching groundcover that thrives in partial to full shade. With a height of about 6-12 inches and a spread of 12-24 inches, its evergreen foliage boasts shiny, heart-shaped leaves with striking silver mottling. In spring, hidden beneath the leaves, it bears unique, jug-shaped purplish-brown flowers. This hardy perennial prefers well-drained, fertile soil, adding exotic texture and appeal to shaded garden areas.
