Southernwood
Artemisia Abrotanum
Overview
Southernwood (Artemisia abrotanum) is a fragrant, semi-woody perennial, thriving in zones 4-8. It features feathery, silver-green foliage reaching up to 3-4 feet tall with a spread of 2-3 feet. This sun-loving herb appreciates well-drained soil, offering drought tolerance once established. Its aromatic leaves deter pests, making it a practical choice for mixed borders. Prune in spring to maintain shape and encourage dense growth.
