Overview

Black Chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa) is a sturdy deciduous shrub reaching 3-6 ft high and wide. Tolerant of wet conditions, it displays clusters of fragrant white flowers in spring and lustrous, dark green leaves that turn red in fall. Its purplish-black berries, high in antioxidants, attract birds and can be used in jams. Plant in full sun to part shade in well-draining soil for best fruit production.
