Aralia Cordata

Design with this plant

Overview

Japanese Spikenard (Aralia cordata) offers a bold, tropical appearance with its sizable, bright green leaves. Reaching up to 6 feet in height and 3 feet in width, it provides striking texture in a shaded garden. In late summer, small yellow flowers emerge, followed by purplish-black berries, enticing to wildlife. Hardy, adaptable, and preferring moist, fertile soil, this perennial makes a resplendent undercanopy or standalone accent. Zones 4-9.
