Wood Anemone

Overview

The Wood Anemone, or Anemone nemorosa, thrives in deciduous woodland settings. This perennial grows to about 4-8 inches in height, spreading via rhizomes to form a carpet of foliage. In early spring, its delicate white flowers, which may have a slight pink tint, typically span 1 inch across. It prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil and part to full shade, making it ideal for naturalizing in shaded garden spots or underplanting beneath trees.
