Overview
Agave sisalana, commonly known as Sisal, is a robust, rosette-forming agave. Characterized by long, stiff, sword-shaped green leaves spanning up to 6 feet in length, each adorned with sharp margins. This drought-tolerant plant is ideal for xeriscapes, reaching a mature spread of around 8 feet. The sisal yields commercially valuable fibers and thrives in full sun, requiring well-drained soil. Flowers rarely, producing a tall central spike after many years.
