Whale's Tongue Agave (Agave ovatifolia) is a striking succulent featuring wide, powdery blue-gray leaves that resemble a whale's tongue. Hardy in zones 7-11, it thrives in full sun and requires well-draining soil. Mature plants reach up to 3-6 feet in both height and spread, adding bold texture to xeriscapes. It demands minimal water, resisting drought well. Bloom occurs once, typically after 10-15 years, with a towering 10-15 foot flower spike.
