Overview
The Western Maidenhair Fern, Adiantum pedatum, is a delicate, deciduous fern known for its fan-shaped, radiating fronds which can reach up to 18 inches in height. Its wiry, black stems elegantly contrast with the light green, lobed leaflets. Thriving in USDA zones 3-8, it prefers moist, well-drained soil with partial to full shade. Ideal for woodland gardens, it adds a feathery, graceful texture to shaded landscape designs.
